FRIS® workshop for teams is a session focused on identifying the individual traits and talents of each team member.

FRIS® is a tool designed to study individual cognitive styles. The FRIS® assessment reveals a person’s thinking and action style. These are automatic reactions that favor the use of certain life strategies, communication styles, and approaches to decision-making and activities. When people operate within their natural predispositions, they can achieve more, function more effectively, and feel more fulfilled. The key to successful teamwork is understanding one’s own natural strengths and fulfilling roles aligned with them. The first step in discovering one’s potential is taking the FRIS® assessment.

What is FRIS®?

The acronym FRIS® stands for Facts, Relationships, Ideas, and Structures. These are the four dominant perspectives — ways of processing information.

Facts Perspective: Focuses on facts and objective, verifiable information.

Relationships Perspective: Interprets situations based on the emotions and relationships involved.

Ideas Perspective: Prefers exploring possibilities and thinking in terms of new concepts and creative solutions.

Structures Perspective: Focuses on approaching situations based on established procedures, proven methods, and clear structures.

Although each of us uses all four perspectives in everyday life and work, we usually have one or two dominant ones. Recognizing your dominant styles helps in better understanding yourself and others, as well as in improving team communication and collaboration.

“No one is born to become someone else.” – Marek Kamiński

The cognitive style, according to one of the most prominent psychologists of individual
differences, Jerome Kagan, is a stable individual preference regarding the way of perceiving, organizing, and categorizing the external world

First, a FRIS® Assessment for Every Team Member!

Before we begin working with a team, we first need to understand the individual thinking and action styles of each team member. The assessment is conducted online and takes about 30 minutes. Then, certified FRIS® trainers consult the results and present the Individual FRIS® Report. The next step is organizing a group workshop.

What Does the Workshop Look Like?

The FRIS® workshop for teams consists of both theoretical and practical parts. During the workshop, participants learn the theory of cognitive styles and individual differences, and then they are introduced to the FRIS® model. Mastering the theoretical foundation allows for a better understanding of one’s natural tendencies. In the practical part, team members become familiar with their individual FRIS® thinking and action styles and will reflect together on how to use these insights in everyday work—such as in communication with oneself, clients, and teammates in project work. The entire process is guided by a certified FRIS® trainer, who ensures both the comfort of participants and the proper psychometric and practical execution of the workshop

What Outcomes Can I Expect?

Changes depend on many factors, so it is difficult to predict specific effects, and claiming just one outcome would be unreliable. However, a workshop based on the FRIS® assessment gives the team a new language that helps to depersonalize challenges and better understand the individual resources and preferences of team members. Thanks to this, team members can develop greater mutual trust, reduce tensions and conflicts, and better utilize their strengths in task performance and communication. The FRIS® model can help ensure that excessive judgments and criticism are replaced by acceptance of diversity in perceiving oneself and others, which — thanks to the clarity of cognitive styles and action tendencies — can positively impact the quality of relationships and team atmosphere.
